How do I turn an image into Braille art?
Choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP image. Each character samples a grid of 2×4 dots. Dark areas become dots by default; invert for a light subject. A lower threshold adds dots, while dithering uses dot density to preserve gray detail. Start with a clear silhouette or a high-contrast image, then adjust the width.
How do I keep the layout when copying?
Plain text and TXT preserve every U+2800 blank cell and line break. A code block adds triple-backtick fences above and below the result. Paste into a monospace area and check the destination’s character limit and font support. Output is capped at 120 characters per line and 80 lines; tall images also reduce in width.
Does this translate text into Braille?
No. This tool uses Unicode Braille Patterns as visual dots to make pictures. It does not translate language into Braille or create tactile documents. Images are limited to 10 MiB and 16 million pixels, with dimensions checked before and after decoding. Image processing happens in your browser without an upload.
